Agate

Privacy Policy

Your quotes, your mood, your lines. They all stay on your phone.

Effective 5 October 2026

Who we are

Agate is a daily quotes app for Android. It is made by Jujuhe (jujuhe.com), a small studio that makes calm, useful apps. In this policy, "we" means Jujuhe. You can reach us at jujuheapps@gmail.com.

What stays on your phone

To work the way you set it up, the app saves a few things in its private storage on your device. Other apps can't read this storage, and we never receive a copy.

WhatWhy
Your first name, if you give oneTo greet you on the Today screen. It's optional.
What you want more of, topics to skip, quote mixTo choose which quotes you see.
Your look: background, text size and weight, motion and vibration settingsTo show the app the way you like it.
How many lines a day, the times and the daysTo schedule your daily quote notifications.
Quotes you keep, and lines you write yourselfSo you can come back to them in Kept.
Mood check-ins from the "I feel" screenTo match quotes to how you feel and show your week of check-ins.
A photo you choose as your backgroundA copy is saved inside the app so it can be shown behind your quotes. It's never uploaded.
Recently shown quotesSo you don't see the same line twice in a row.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools, and it doesn't connect to any server of ours. We can't see who uses the app, how it's used, or anything you save in it.

Permissions

PermissionWhat it's for
NotificationsTo deliver the daily quotes you scheduled. You can say no, and change it any time in your phone's settings.
Run at startupTo put your quote schedule back after your phone restarts.
Set wallpaperOnly when you tap "Set as wallpaper" in the wallpaper maker.
VibrationFor the small tick when you swipe to a new quote. You can turn it off in You.
Storage (Android 9 and older only)To save an image you made to your gallery, when you ask it to.

When you choose a background photo, Android's own photo picker shows you your photos. The app only receives the one photo you pick, and never your wider gallery.

When something leaves your phone

Only when you choose to send it. Sharing a quote, emailing us or opening a book's source page hands that content to the app you pick, such as your messages app, email app or browser. What happens next is covered by that app's own privacy policy.

Phone backups

If backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android can include the app's saved settings, kept quotes and your own lines in your Google account backup, or carry them over when you move to a new phone. That backup is made and stored by Google under your Google account, and we can't access it. Your background photo isn't included. You can turn backup off in your phone's settings.

Google Play, which you install the app from, handles downloads and updates under Google's own privacy policy.

Your choices and control

Children

The app isn't directed at children under 13, and it doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, at any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the app ever starts collecting any data, we'll say so clearly here and in the app before it happens.
